Hello! Thank you for visiting my blog! Here you will get to know me—the “sweet girl” behind the dessert tables. The girl who loves to create. The proud mama who loves her boys to no bounds and the wife that thanks her lucky stars every day to have her husband, her best friend & business partner, by her side. Whether you visiting our blog or the first time or have stopped by before, please know that I’m incredibly grateful that you are here and look forward to getting to know you. So sit back, grab a large cup of coffee (or cake pop) and enjoy!

Trish and Garrett’s Wedding with Jason Mize Photography

Hello Everyone! Hope all of you have a great weekend. We just wrapped up one of our biggest weekends and all I can say is that I’m grateful to just take this Monday to regroup, blog and hang out with Baby Preston. So I’m happy to *finally* share a wedding that we just LOVE. This is with Jason Mize Photography and oh, so love the features of this beauty. Zoe Gallina was the coordinator/everything person and she is just pretty much over-the-moon great and if you don’t believe, check out her lovely blog here.

It was great working with Trish because she knew exactly what she was looking for from the get-go: creams and corals with vintage touches. We were able to incorporate pieces she brought in (books, old ceramics, cake stands) and come up with a spread that worked really well together.

And have to share some love with Lauren Grove from Every Last Detail. Baby Preston was just a few weeks old and Lauren came to the rescue and graciously helped us out for the evening…so for that I’m eternally grateful!

Calendar for a Cause 2012

Hey Y’all! Slowly getting to blogging. It’s been a big adjustment period for me, so thank you for bearing with me! Every year we get requests for sponsored tables, donations for various (wonderful) causes, but this year we decided to narrow down our focus and all of our energies  into one cause, that is joining the fight against pediatric cancers and childhood illnesses.

A few years ago, I stumbled upon a blog by Holly McRae, the mother of a beautiful (actually stunning) 5 year old little girl diagnosed with an agressive form of brain cancer. Her words (she’s an amazing gifted writer), grace and faith during her family’s difficult journey touched my heart and I felt an instant connection. As a mama myself, I just can’t even begin to imagine what Holly must be going through. Today, Kate continues to defy the odds as she undergoes chemo treatments and therapies for a second relapse. If you have a moment, I encourage you to read more about her story here.

So when Georgia Watson asked us to create a cake pop dessert table for Tampa Bay’s Calendar for a Cause event, we seriously did not give it a second thought. A culmination of talented photographers and event planners came together to create  a 12-month calender filled with children either battling cancer or survivors. All proceeds from the calendar and the gala went directly to the Children’s Cancer Center. It was a great event and all I can say is that I was so incredibly grateful the chance to be a part of it.

Special thanks to Michael Schuhmann for all of the images.
